Lately, I've been focused on making woven wall hangings and fiber art. Because I primarily use vintage, thrifted, and re-purposed fibers, each piece is made with a variety of color and texture, and is completely unique. Re-using left-behind, found, and forgotten materials is a very important part of my creative process. I am able to connect to each weaving differently, and even imagine who once owned each skein of yarn—and even what project it was originally intended for. Weaving combines my love of texture, and passion for painting. Staring at an empty loom, or a blank page can be intimidating—but watching the colors come to life and start slowly transforming into a work of art is incredible. Usually, I pick a handful of colors, and just start weaving until the pattern becomes clear. If there is anything that stands out about my work, it's that my weavings evoke emotion and comfort, make use of curves instead of angled lines, and ultimately take the viewer to another place.

While I don't always know where I'm heading creatively, I'm confident that I'll continue to learn and grow as an artist no matter where life takes me. Please contact me if you're interested in taking painting lessons, want to learn about weaving or if you just want to have a cup of coffee!
