The mother of all weavings

September 29, 2015 Laura Reiss

I've been working on this weaving for a couple of months; partially because of lack of time and partially because I wanted it to grow. I didn't know when I started where it was going. It was so rewarding to watch it transform over the last few weeks. Last night, I worked for hours to finish: weaving, making tassels, and getting it strung on a branch. I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to start my next large weaving and to make a series of mini weavings using this painterly concept. I think I've found my fall project :)

Process:

Beginning stages when I had no idea what I was doing!

This stage is when I started to get a feeling for the end result and got really positive feedback on Instagram, so I started to get really excited about finishing.

The hole in the right hand corner was a weird spot where I had no idea what color to drop in and  it was blank for too long.

So close!

Finally done!

Here is where I've hung her up in my home. She's with my handmade woven pillow and rug of course!
