I love this book. If you're interested in learning how to weave, this is the resource for you. Rachel has mad teaching skills.

This project was adapted from a project featured inside her magical book. The pictures are fabulous! There are tutorials for lots of different woven projects and is a great resource for both seasoned and new weavers. Get a copy and start weaving!

Pom-Pom earrings for sale!

IMG_5294.JPG

Well, almost for sale. I'm going to list each pair on Etsy by late next week, but I'm waiting to get more photographs. Consider this a preview!

These fur-like earrings are made from wool roving. They are super soft and light weight. Each earring is gold and nickel-free.

Measurements (both wool roving and classic pom-pom):

From tip of earring to end of pom-pom: 3 1/4"

Pom-poms: 1 1/2"

Some of the pom-pom earrings are shorter and are about 2 1/2" from the tip of the earring to the end of the pom-pom which is why they will be listed individually.

I'm also offering classic pom-pom earrings which are made from various types of yarn. Still light and soft, but a different texture and color variation.

I will advertise when the earrings are live! In the mean time, if you want to claim a pair, let me know what color and I'm happy to hold them for you (especially if you're local)!

New weaving series

In the last few weeks I've been working on a series fringey, layered weavings. One of my main goals is to make pieces that are still somewhat sizeable, but take less time to create than my usual weavings. The faster I can make them, the cheaper I can sell them. It is so hard to price work that takes hours to create and still make them affordable. It's an ongoing process, but I'm making headway!

These weavings (and many more!) will be available at The Made Fest this fall. Stay tuned for details!

Urbana's Market at the Square

This morning at the farmer's market was wonderful! I tried a new approach to attract families to my booth by setting up a free painting station right next door. Luckily, I didn't have neighbors on either side, which allowed for a  crowd. I'll be doing this every week from now on and plan on coming up with a different themes for each week that I'm there. Oh, and also to get more paints!

Things are coming together with this set-up and my dream is unfolding in front me. Thanks for the support! C-U is a wonderful community and I am so happy to be a part of it.
